Our Partners

NEXUS is possible thanks to the collaboration of key corporate, philanthropic and community partners.

NAB recognises there are big societal issues – like climate change, inequality and affordable housing – and no single government agency, civil-society organisation, philanthropic trust or business, no matter how big, can address these issues alone.  We believe collaboration is key to finding solutions that will drive significant positive impact and therefore it is important to us that we bring people together to address these challenges.

Over the last few years, NAB has collaborated with Australia’s best and brightest changemakers to create a space for social innovation to thrive.  We co-created Impact Investment Ready: Growth grants and Discovery grants with Impact Investment Australia and Philanthropy Australia, we supported The Difference Incubator’s Two Feet accelerator program, we redesigned the NAB Foundation grants to support early stage social innovators, we partner with Good Shepherd Microfinance to improve financial resilience and we collaborate at a global level to better understand impact measurement and management.  Partnering with FYA to sponsor the 2018 NEXUS Australia Youth Summit just made sense.

We know however that our biggest impact will be to find different ways to use our financial skills to address these big societal issues.  We have created new products like green bonds to finance the growing renewable energy sector and our social bond to shine a light on workplace gender equality as well as creating new ways for investors to have choice and transparency about where they invest their money.  We are working on a few exciting things which we look forward to sharing, or even co-creating, with you at NEXUS.

Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation (LMCF) has been changing Melbourne and the lives of Melburnians for the better by connecting givers with charities, lives with bequests and turning people in story changers. As Australia’s oldest and largest independent community foundation, LMCF works to inspire philanthropy to influence and support positive social change in Melbourne and beyond. Established in 1923 by Lord Mayor Sir John Swanson, the Foundation was launched to raise funds to support the health and rehabilitation of service men and women returning from World War One. Today the Foundation continues to tackle challenging issues facing the Greater Melbourne community including homelessness and affordable housing, education and employment, climate change and community cohesion that includes providing equality of opportunity for marginalised young people.

LMCF is passionate about working with the next generation of young people who are working to create a brighter future and make lasting impact through research, collaboration, influencing policy, strategic communications, grant making and impact investment.
